As your Northern Ireland Elopement Photographers we wanted to pop on to the blog. Twenty Twenty being an extremely strange and difficult year with Covid-19. Our hearts go out to all the heartbroken couples. It has been a testing year. As we write this blog things do seem to be on the turn and I feel we can see the light at the end of the tunnel. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all you for first booking with The Three Bears and secondly taking the time and effort to reschedule your wedding to a date to have us. We feel honoured. Your loyalty and support genuinely means so much to us. We are still super excited for the adventure, big or small.
On a more positive note couples that have still wanted to get married in 2020 and opted for a smaller wedding, which we think is amazing. Striping things back and just having the most important people around you for your intimate wedding in Northern Ireland, there is something quite magical about that. We will be doing some smaller intimate weddings this year almost like an elopement, in essence, smaller numbers, outdoor weddings and going to some of the most iconic elopement destinations in Ireland for the bride and groom shoots so we can still make it an adventure.
What is an Elopement?
What is an elopement? Technically the definition is “run away secretly in order to get married”. In the past some couples may have hopped on a plane to get married in secret. For modern lovers, in our experience, it’s about adventure. Couples not wanting the big traditional wedding at home. Couples who want a smaller intimate wedding in an amazing destination. Like Ireland with just the most important people in their lives to be present. Instead of one day turning it into a couple of days of celebrations. Partying and getting married in a scenic location with the most important people in your lives.
What could be more epic than this? It’s great to be able to still be a part of smaller intimate weddings in Northern Ireland this year. Feeling so blessed. We just can’t wait to get back out shooting. Taking our awesome couples on an adventure to some of the most iconic elopement destinations in Northern Ireland.
Our diary is opened for Elopements and Destination Weddings
With that, we are pleased to announce and super excited to be opening up our diaries. For more elopements and destination weddings. Unfortunately, we had to cut back on these when we had our new arrival. We missed them, we have shot all over the world. As far as Bali, Indonesia. Travelling and shooting in cool new places. Meeting couples from different cultures and walks of life is what we love. If you have looked through our website you will see a few. In June, we will be shooting in the South of Spain. Some couples sessions from Spain have hit the blog. We were out shooting there at the start of the year. We also love when couples elope to Ireland. There is so many beautiful locations to get married. We will soon be writing a blog post on our top places to elope in Ireland and Northern Ireland.

We are the Three Bears. We are Northern Ireland Wedding & Elopement Photographers. We also shoot destination weddings.
We are a family team based in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
We like going on adventures. Hiking in the Mournes. Swimming in the North Coast. Health and fitness. Travelling. Cosy nights in watching Netflix.
Our Style of shooting
We are fine art story tellers. We want to go an adventure with you. From your engagement shoot to your wedding day to the BBQ and beers on the beach the following day. We want to tell your love story.
For us, modern wedding photography is about melting into the background. Letting you guys be you. Documenting all those candid moments, the tears, the laughter, the crazy, whatever unfolds. Those unscripted real moments is what we live for. But don’t worry, you won’t be alone. We will be there to guide you. Put you in front of some beautiful backdrops giving you some hints and ques (our special sauce to help you get those amazing shots and yes, we capture all the details and family shots as well..we have got to keep the parents happy). But prodomately we are candid shooters.
We need your trust and freedom to do what we do best. Tell your love story through our eyes and lens in our artistic way and as we said…melt into the background and let you guys enjoy the most amazing day of your life. What we are not
If you want a traditional photographer who is going to work off a shot list or do staged formal shots, thats just not us and we would recommend someone else to photograph your wedding. You and your photographer need to be the right fit for each other. You should be seeing their work and loving their style. We understand that we are not for everyone and we are cool with that but for the couples we are for they will have an amazing experience working with us.
What couples do we work best with? Is Romance dead?
Ana and I work best with laid back couples who are head over heels in love and who have been following our work for a while, know a bit about us and love our style of photography and who are excited about creating images and a bit of magic with us.
We love adventurous couples that want to have fun and go on a hike up a mountain, swim in the ocean, go for drinks around town, dance in the rain, run in the sand barefooted. There is only one chance at telling your love story so let’s make it epic. Without you or these types of couples we can’t do what we do best and get those amazing unique images that make you go wow.
For couples that aren’t super lovey dovey, you don’t have to be, however, we do want to capture a bit of romance, a bit of fun and all the emotions in-between. We want you to be excited to work with us as this is when our best work comes through.

These American sweethearts seen our work on Instagram and got in touch about their elopement photography in Northern Ireland, it was doubly amazing as they flew us out for the engagement shoot in New York City. Shooting in the infamous Brooklyn Bridge This was our first time shooting in the big apple. You can check out the shoot here.
